When the system is upgraded from 4.6C to ECC6, After the SPDD, SPAU and UC Check are completed; the most common problem faced is the printing of '#' character instead of some special characters in any other code page except English.

The ‘#’ problem can exist in following cases:

Case 1: While downloading the contents to an Excel file.

Case 2: While writing contents to a PDF file.

Case 3: In Form printing (Sap Script), printing of Junk Characters.

Case 4: SPUMG problem

Case 5: Reading from a Dataset.

CASE I : When a report is executed and the result is downloaded/ exported to the excel, In Unicode system, The data (which is in other languages than English) in Excel appears as ‘#’. To solve this problem, we need to do a small change in the GUI configuration settings.

You need to make the following changes:

Go to your SAP Logon pad. Click on change item after selecting Q75 ECC 6 system.h6. * *Enjoy your output without ‘#’ now onwards J
