Live Streaming Video … with Twitter!

You may have seen Singularly excited about TechEd on Tuesday about the interactive live video streaming event on Sept 9th with SAP’s CTO, Vishal Sikka and Ray Kurzweil.

We are very excited about the event.  It’s the first time SAP has done anything like this with a combination of live streaming video and Twitter feed.  Let me tell you a little about it:

  • We’ll have live streaming video with Vishal and Ray and the event will be moderated by our favorite SAP on-stage personality, Ian Kimbell. You may remember Ian from SAPPHIRE presenting all the keynote demos throughout the week. (We’re almost as excited to have Ian on board as we are Vishal and Ray… 🙂 )
  • Alongside the live video, we will have a Twitter box (see screenshot below). The Twitter box will allow everyone to log into Twitter there on the page and start tweeting about the event.
  • The box will also show the Twitter feed for all tweets with hashtag #SAPTechEd09. (That’s the hashtag we’ll be using for this event as well as for TechEd generally.)
  • When you log into the Twitter box on the page, it will pre-populate your tweet with the hashtag and also append your tweet with a link that takes any of your followers immediately to this page to see the live event. Cool!

As I say, we are very excited about it and hope you all will all be watching and tweeting for the event!

    • Hey Jim,  Yes, we were aware of it, but were only given one choice on the date and this was actually the only time where both speakers were available on that date.  There doesn’t need to be a conflict though, because the live event is late in the day on the 9th.
