Dear Partners and Customers of SAP Business One,

It has been around two years since we started delivering different tools and services to help you learn, use and support SAP Business One. As part of that initiative, we have introduced various Self-Help, Wiki Pages, Expert Empowerment Sessions, Podcasts, several landing pages and programs (e.g. Accelerated Upgrade Program), hopefully you would have had a chance to use and benefit from some of these assets.

Today, I am happy to announce that we have released for unrestricted shipment the remote support platform for SAP Business One, which is an application that allows partners and customers to remotely monitor and manage SAP Business One installations easily. With the remote support platform for SAP Business One we are also delivering several other services free of charge that inform you about critical things like your system status, possible bottlenecks as well as installation readiness for upgrades to the next release etc… The main benefit is that health checks can be executed automatically and  partners and customers will get the result of these checks via email, thus having a clearer view of  their business management system. Additionally, It increases the transparency of customer installations and database status while reducing the efforts required on both the partner’s and the customer’s side.

The application is installed separately from SAP Business One and is intended for use with releases 2005 A/B, 2005 A SP01, 2007 A/B. Feedback from partners participating in the Preview Program indicates that the application helps:

  1. Avoid critical situations by providing proactive information on customer’s system status (regular updates sent via mail)
  2. Partners document better the value of maintenance services provided by SAP
  3. Check customer’s system against known support issues
  4. Check if customer’s system is ready for upgrades
  5. Allow SAP remote database analysis, based on incoming customer messages to avoid over usage of Webex sessions and therefore decrease time in resolving outstanding support issues.

    This feature is amazing but I found out the there is little documentation for customers on how to use  it. It seems to be more geared towards SAP partners as to do remote work in case something happens.
