Are you interested in Enterprise Content Management? Then you might want to know how SAP NetWeaver is going to approach this topic in the upcoming releases.

Looking at a typical system landscape of an SAP customer several ECM products are already deployed including ECM products and components by SAP as well as products and components by partners and 3rd party vendors. So besides the resulting challenges with regards to integration and operations there’s an increasing demand of embedding ECM services directly into business applications.

SAP NetWeaver is trying to address these challenges by providing a new ECM infrastructure which enables the integration of SAP’s own ECM offering as well as the ECM products and components offered by our partners and 3rd party vendors. With regards to interoperability the upcoming open standard CMIS is going to play a key role.

So if you want to learn more about the ECM technology roadmap of SAP NetWeaver, you may join session UP101 at SAP TechEd Phoenix, Vienna or Banagalore:

If you want to dive even one step deeper into the new technology you might also want to visit the corresponding hands-on session UP361. This session will give an introduction to the architecture and the APIs and SPIs of the new ECM service layer. As part of this session you will also build, deploy and configure your own sample application based on the new ECM service layer.
