Having talked with a great number of SAP China employees and external people, I realized that most of them only know SDN and they have no idea what BPX, BOC and UAC are. They fully understand SDN is for technical related information and the target users are developer, architect and other techies. After the explanations of BPX, BOC and UAC had been instructed to them, they immediately responded to me that these communities were the ones they had been longing for. Then the very follow up question they asked was how many areas/topics would be localized in Chinese. I firmly believe that localized content would be one of most important factors to make SCN succeed in China, especially in the beginning phase.

According to the English content on the SCN, I do believe that SAP can offer people much more deep insight of business know-how and IT world. The only thing that needs to be done is to localize content for China market. Lately, a couple of new areas went live on SAP Community Network Chinese site. They are Automotive and Product Lifecycle Management. Both of them are managed by very experienced SAP colleagues, who are Junsong Peng, Pascal Hua, Albert Zhou and Peng Zhang.

Business Suite 7 and GRC will also go live very soon. The BS7 area is starting to provide recordings and presentations of 20 Values Scenarios in the Chinese Wiki. These recordings and presentations, which are presented by experienced solution artictects, are tailored and localized for China Market.

In addition, SAP technology-wise topics are also available on SCN China, e.g. ABAP Development wiki. Since BPM topic is very hot in the China market, a corresponding wiki, which will be administrated by a couple of experts, will be set up in the near future.
