In almost any career you will experience ups and downs. Promotions may come your way, along with challenging projects and fantastic opportunities. These will, undoubtedly bring with them stress and excitement (let’s hope for more excitement than stress). In coping with this, you will need to rely on skills, experience and your network of connections. You will need resilience.

But what are the stages of career development? How can you begin to build your reputation and engage with the community? And how can this contribute to your career? To begin answering some of these questions, take a look at the Career Preparation eBook. It is available as both a Flash flip-book and as a PDF.

I hope you find it useful.

This is an interesting topic. I think the Career book has a lot of valid information but I am not sure what career level it is aimed at? A lot of the information does not go deep for a mature applicant.

I do like the part that introduces the social media tools, as I believe many people might not be aware of those – although many on SCN will be. The young folks will have these social media tools down to a “t”.

Thanks Natascha. The eBook is mostly aimed at new entrants or those at the early stages of their career.

I don’t know if it is just my experience, but many of the younger people I meet may be aware of the social media tools, but not yet engaging with them as a way of building their professional reputation.
