Learning SAP BW, The Twitter way – BW-Tweet #2

Response to Introductory tweet/Micro-Blog (Learning SAP BW, The Twitter way – BW-Tweet #1) had been really encouraging 🙂 few of my colleagues commented that I should call it micro-blog rather than tweet.

As it is a micro-blog in more conventional sense and it compelled me to go back to http://dictionary.cambridge.org/ and check TWEET – which means ‘the short weak sound made by a young bird’ so I hope to tweet every week.

Coming back to BW –

Tweet#2

Replicate Single DataSource

Use RSAOS_METADATA_UPLOAD function module to replicate single datasource.

Logical system – put in field I_LOGSYS

OLTP datasource name – put in field I_SOURC.

and execute. Trust you shall check this in Sandbox / Development System first.

Disclaimer – Idea is to learn something in couple of seconds without going through lengthy blogs or articles. BW-Tweet hopes to exist with blogs and articles rather than replacing those. Also this is reproduction of concepts and in no way qualify as an original piece of work.

      Hello Sir,
why use a function module when u can just right click on the data source and hit replicate ?? why make things complicated ??

      Hi Rahul,

Thanks for your feedback and interest in this micro-blog (read tweet). Yes you are right, by right clicking...

way presented here is also one of the ways can be handy while you create new generic datasources in source system and need to replicate those first time.

      Hope for continued support

      Regards

      Vikash
