SAP TechEd 2009 – Virtual?

Wait you can go to SAP TechEd virtually? Well that was what I asked when I saw a presentation the other night during one of our SAP TechEd planning calls.

I mean I’m all about virtual and I had no idea that we have a Virtual SAP TechEd 2009 package available!

DISCLAIMER! The video may show more than you will see upon purchasing your package as I am a system administrator!

Virtual SAP TechEd gives you year-round access to valuable training sessions recorded live at SAP TechEd.  Other than attending the event in person, Virtual SAP TechEd is the only way to get and stay up to date with SAP technologies, best practices and product roadmaps.

We offer over 500 eClasses featuring leading SAP experts recorded live at SAP TechEd – with more eClasses added every year!
Each eClass includes a video of the presenter, table of contents, presentation slides, demonstrations and a downloadable version of presentation (PDF).

They’ve several options available from the “full” to pieces depending on your interests!

UPDATE!!! I just discovered that the packages currently available are for last year (makes sense since the ones for this year have not yet happened), the one for 2009 will be available in late November! ALSO SAP TechEd 2009 full conference registrants in Phoenix and Vienna will receive complimentary access to Virtual SAP TechEd. If you can’t attend in person, you can still purchase Virtual SAP TechEd seperately.

      Hi SCNers,

U2 in 1992 brought out the song "Even better than the real thing". I can assure you that isn't true for virtual SAP TechEd.

There is nothing better than coming to the SAP TechEd SAP Clubhouse and getting a warm smile and a handshake from Mr. Firday Morning Report himself: Craig Cmehil, always eager to show you around and let you in to the actually not so secret happenings like Demo Jam and Hacker's Night.

Nothing better than rubbing shoulders with the folks you only know from small blog profile pictures: "Man, you look so much older than your blog picture, Mark! Time to update." Is one of my all time favorites meeting new SCNers.

Nothing better than seeing the old SCN family again after a year of virtuality and welcoming new members into that family during the hand full of days that are spent together.

Nothing better than getting the inside scoop of Phoenix nighlife from the now local Harrald Reiter.

As a colleague today mentioned: Where else did you have the chance to play Werewolf Jimmy Wales? The Wikipedia founder will not be there this year, but there is always something exciting happening at TechEd when you are there in person, that you don't get in front of the glow of your computer.

Do what you can to be part of it. If you can't manage, the virtual TechEd is the second choice and as Craig mentions, you get the virtual TechEd too if you sign up for the real thing.

See you in Phoenix and Vienna, may be even Bangalore or Shanghai Mark.

All excellent points Mark, as I mentioned in another blog yesterday the Demo Jam alone is a strong and valid reason - at least for me to pay and physically attend!

Also like you with your photo, sounds very familiar as well, will never forget Brian McKellar and I meeting for the first time and him looking "down" at me saying "I thought you were taller" (he's a giant and one of the major reasons I became active in the community to begin with!)
