New Article: Lookup User Function Library (UFL)
One of the things I really like about SDN is the articles section. There’s a lot of high quality information and whitepapers there.
One of the recent entries was done by my colleague Ian Treleaven who created a lookup User Function Library (UFL). This takes advantage of the Unicode UFL interface in CR 2008 SP1 that I Whats New in Crystal Reports 2008 V1? about earlier.
If you’re not familiar with UFLs, they’re a way to expose compiled, external code as a formula that can be called from within the CR formula language. This way you can access any custom business logic from within a Crystal Report.
This particular UFL provides a nice, simple way to access external string resources within a Crystal Report lookup function.
Here’s a direct link to the article.
