Referring to a former blog on this interesting topic: Direct store delivery (DSD) is a key method of selling and distributing products for a large variety of industries, like food, beverage, home personal care products, and like wholesale and distribution, oil & gas, service industries to name industries beyond consumer products. In the light of this, several scientific researches regarding the Direct Store Delivery (DSD) process have been performed together with the University of Regensburg, Germany, and embracing more than 300 companies out of more than 40 nations.
Based on initial research, SAP Business Transformation Consulting CoE Consumer Products, the Industry Business Unit Consumer Products and the University of Regensburg have been in the driver seat for a publication on the business process of DSD. The publication has been released end of March 2009.
Globally, this is the first publication regarding DSD, covering aspects of the business process from different angles comprehensively (manufacturers, retailers, scientific institutions, software vendors). From business perspective, the key companies out of the different industries participated and contributed to this collaborative exercise.
