Solution Manager Work Center wizard.

If you have installed a central Solution Manager system, and you want an armchair ride when connecting satellite systems, this option is for you. Select the Root Cause Analysis workcenter and let the database monitoring wizard guide you through.

1.      Navigate to the Root Cause Analysis (RCA) Work Center

2.      Enter your Satellite system details

3.      Update the tnsnames.ora file in directory /sapmnt/<sid>/profile/oracle

4.      Activate the systems and perform a test connection.

h3. The Oracle Tuning Pack delivers more monitors

You can activate several additional Oracle monitors in your DBA Cockpit as part of the Oracle Tuning Pack. The Oracle Tuning Pack includes Active Session History (ASH), Active Workload Reporting (AWR) and Automatic Database Diagnostic Monitors (ADDM). This has provided me a long awaited closer coupling of several useful Oracle Gird Control features into the DBA Cockpit.

We quickly enabled the Oracle Tuning Pack using the following simple steps:-

    1. Active session history

    2. Workload reporting

    3. system metrics

    4. System summary Metrics

    5. File Metrics

    6. Wait Class Metrics
