Last year during the SAP TechEd events everyone was used to the “virtual” SAP Clubhouse being the place to get schedule updates, widgets and of course the cool new Adobe AIR apps that were being developed.

Well yesterday the new and updated virtual SAP Clubhouse was launched, beta tested, stress tested and amazingly “crashed” after only being announced via “Twitter“, it was roughly 3000 hits within 3 minutes from around the world that hit the site bringing it down.

It was then quickly fixed up and moved to a high end server with caching, performancing tuning and accelerators!

The new site is ready for your SAPPHIRE 09 needs so to speak, it combines several of the newest things in the “social” world to bring about a complete conference experience!

One of the coolest is connected to a brand new Adobe AIR app (powered by @eventtrack, disclaimer I built and own @eventtrack) and built by myself and Abesh

You can get the app for use during the SAPPHIRE event on the “desktop” page!

You can also follow the action live from where ever you are on the “action” page via CoverItLive and Twitter.

Many kudos to Dennis for paving the way and learning the hard lessons for us! Speaking of “us” there are of course a few key links to know about as well.

Remember if you are generating blogs, photos, videos, tweets, or any other type of content be sure to use the tag “sapphire09” to help capture and collect everything together!
