The best ever additional tools for SAP Enterprise Application development have been created by Adobe.  SAP Interactive Forms, Adobe Flash Islands for Web Dynpro,  Web Dynpro Flex generated code of Visual Composer, SAP Business Objects  xCelsius and SAP Acrobat Connect applications by Adobe are all based on products of the Adobe Technology.  In this weblog I will give you the link to my presentation about Adobe AIR and Flex development on top of SAP NetWeaver at the Adobe MAX 2008 in Milan.

In this presentation I focused on three ways of connecting Flex and Air applications against SAP:
– Direct connection between SAP and Flex/Air
– Connecting SAP and Flex/Air using data service
– Embedded Flex in SAP

The presentation will start with a introduction. Next it will cover direct connections using BSP, WebRFC and Web Service. The third chapter will be the connection using a RIA server with the differences between LiveCycle Data Services and BlazeDS. In the fourth chapter I talk about embedded flex solutions like Adobe Flash Islands for Web Dynpro and SAP Business Objects  xCelsius. The presentation will end with our lessons learned.

I was in Milan @Adobe MAX 2008 and this presentation was the best presentation of all, as exposure and as contents.
I hope Adobe Flex/AIR teams could grow inside SAP. Usability will be really improved.
    Thanks Robert.

In you slides you state that Flob (Flex on BSP) is “Initiated by SAP and Adobe. No official support, SAP custom code”.

Actually…it’s a Community Project initiated by Thomas Jung, which is indeed an SAP employee but made Flob by his own without SAP or Adobe support.

    Greetings,
    Blag.
