The SAP Community Network is powered by SAP NetWeaver and is a remarkable testimony to the flexibility and stability of the SAP NetWeaver platform. Nevertheless, the platform continues to evolve and now it is time for us to upgrade to SAP NetWeaver 7.0 SP 17.
Our platform team will perform this major upgrade on Saturday, 28 March 2009. The upgrade will start at 8:00 A.M. CET and will result in approximately 10 hours of downtime. All the CN communities, including SAP EcoHub will be affected.
We are sorry for any inconvenience that the downtime might cause our loyal communities. (If it is any consolation, you can be assured that many of us on the SAP Community Network team will feel bored, lost, and empty, wondering where to go and what to do with our time on that dreadful day. 😉
But even though upgrades cause downtimes, they have their advantages too, and this upgrade will bring some important benefits including better performance and improved stability of the overall platform. Additionally, the upgrade will enable us to introduce several new features that we will be rolling out in the coming weeks and months.
Please bear with us during the “dark hours” on Saturday. On Sunday the light will shine again and you can jump back in to engage with your favorite communities.
