In this economic climate of shrinking IT spending, Business Process Management (BPM) programs are a bright spot that is showing significant growth. A recent Gartner survey found nearly 40% of companies were applying BPM principles to projects, and Gartner is forecasting adoption of BPM software will grow at over 16% annually before 2012. Many SAP customers are looking at BPM as a way to quickly realize the flexibility provided by SAP's newest applications, SAP ERP 6.0 and SAP BusinessSuite 7.
BPM Consulting is a different kind of practice than traditional SOA implementation. It places emphasis on management consulting rather than traditional IT architecture and development. SAP Partners will need to enhance the services they provide to include business consulting skills in order to take advantage of this growing opportunity.
