From April 20th to 22nd, the SAP Co-Innovation Lab (COIL) is hosting the third SAP Virtualization Week in Palo Alto, California, while also making the event accessible via live broadcast.

In 25 sessions, speakers from customers, partners and SAP will talk about their experience with SAP in virtual environments. You will learn about virtualization strategies, solutions and how SAP uses virtualization in their own data centers.

A panel discussion will feature five Silicon Valley CTOs from VMware, Citrix, Sun, Microsoft and Virtual Computer.

To give you a flavor of the content at SAP Virtualization Week, let me present just one session in more detail (more to be highlighted in future blogs):

Further Adventures in Virtualized SAP Operations: Fully Automating Provisioning and Operations

Speaker: Dr. Gregory O. Smith, Ph.D., Vice President Technical Deal Solution Design, T-Systems North America

Abstract:

As a leader in the virtualized and automated delivery of SAP with its Dynamic Services platform, T-Systems supports over 160,000 SAP users with this unique, integrated, multi-tenancy platform from multiple data centers across the globe.

The session will be broken into three parts:

  • An overview of the virtualized Dynamic Services Platform focusing on key strategic business, technology and design decisions for virtualizing SAP.
  • Automated provisioning, operations and workflow using automation tools and techniques focusing on recent advances in our Dynamic Services platform over the past year.
  • T-Systems’ assessment of the “State of the Industry” regarding virtualized and automated delivery of SAP including recommendations for customers and partners who are looking beyond basic virtualization to automation provisioning and operations based on T-Systems’ experiences to-date.

For an overview of all the sessions, please access the agenda for SAP Virtualization Week on this page (left hand side bar).

If you cannot travel to Palo Alto for the event, you can take advantage of the live broadcast, sponsored by Citrix. Get more information in the SAP Virtualization Week collaboration workspace, or go straight to registration.

Thanks for sharing this Natascha ! Virtualization is a very important topic from SAP’s future platform strategy perspective, specially in context of the last letter of SOA (Architecture). Although the topic of virtualization is an important one, but still for some reason it hasn’t been adequatley covered on SCN. This event would go a long way in addressing that.

    Looking forward to this event.
