I elicit responses from the rest of the community to help someone to make an informed decision.
1. There is no other vendor or platform bringing technical/IT information into context of business/application information. Examples for this are the areas of testing, business process monitoring, issue and change request management, job management...
2. There might be isolated solution offering nice features, but how do you integrate them with other tools? No other infrastructure covers the whole software live cycle enabling the data exchange from the implementation project to testing, monitoring, change management and so on...
3. There might be isolated solution offering a better usability, but for those you have to pay additional license fees, e.g. monitoring starting from several 1000$ per system and year.

I am studying a lot on Solution Manager EHP1 spstack 3. So far I've implemented Root cause analysis and am working on Service Desk now. So complicated but SDN has helped immensely. When I am finished, I will create a blog and put my name against it. Was great to see your name on SDN. I hope you are keeping well and look forward to having a beer with you.
