A day in the life of a Field Service Technician :
Jim Daily is a service technician, who works for ADCOM Computers (fictitious) spends most of his day on the field, processing repair and service requests of customers.

Jim starts his day by synchronizing the mobile service application, installed on his laptop with the CRM Server.
When done, he checks the application calendar, for service-assignments that were dispatched to him by the resource-planner.
Hmm….Jim finds a new activity scheduled between 1pm-2pm with a customer called Alpha Center.
He accepts this assignment and checks the details in-order to understand the nature of this new service request.
Next, he tries to figure out the location of this customer whom he needs to visit. This information is seen within the appropriate component.
He subsequently checks the information to form a mental picture of the installation at the customer’s location.
Now that Jim is sufficiently informed, he visits the customer at the appointed time, with the required spare-parts, diagnoses the issue and fixes it.
Once the service operation is completed Jim creates a follow-up service-confirmation document and includes the spare-parts that were additionally used to execute the request and finally saves the confirmation document which is later synchronized with the CRM server – via his laptop.
