Dear all,

I am happy to announce that SAP NetWeaver Mobile 7.1 has successfully finished Ramp-Up and is now in unrestricted shipment.

Why do you need it?

Mobile access to enterprise applications is becoming more and more important because much of the activity of customer-facing or mobile professionals is dependent on timely and accurate access to the information and processes they need for their work. Almost all organizations today face a common set of challenges when it comes to integrating their mobile workers into the enterprise’s processes.

SAP NetWeaver Mobile helps IT organizations extend applications, data, and processes to mobile workers who are not always connected to the company network.

What are the key capabilities of SAP NetWeaver Mobile 7.1?

  • Ease of Development: The  model-driven and component-based development approach of NetWeaver Mobile 7.1 accelerates product development and lowers costs. It allows IT organizations to react faster to changing business needs.

  • Efficient Management: SAP NetWeaver Mobile includes device management and administration functionality that enables enterprises to manage key aspects of their mobile application deployment. Capabilities such as over-the-air application lifecycle managment, remote diagnostices, and end-to-end monitoring reduce the operational effort of running a mobile solution.

  • Powerful Middleware: SAP NetWeaver Mobile offers a highly scalable and flexible synchronzation middleware capability. It determines what pieces of data from SAP and non-SAP business applications are needed by each mobile user and distributes them based on rules that are tailored to the unique business requirements of the individual organization.

Who has used it?

Some examples of successful SAP NetWeaver Mobile 7.1 implementations:

Operator Teams leads save time by being able to pull information quickly. Equipment issue identification has been improved. Reporting allows operations to easy trend backwards, improving their knowledge and decision making. You can find more information in the Blogs of Mike Brosseau,Systems Analyst at Agrium.

    Hi Stefan,

Our customer wants to have all standard functionality with respect to Plant and Maintenance Module on DOE 7.1. So it boils down to part that MAM be available for them on 7.1. I just want confirmation that whether MAM is available on DOE 7.1 and if it is not then whether SAP has specified any dates to do so?

    Thanks and Regards,
    Gopal
