It was the first time an event called ‘Hacker’s Night’ was organized in SAP Teched 08, Banglore on day – 2 ( 13th Nov 08 ). I felt lucky enough to be a part of such a brain storming session. Telling you frankly the rough idea I had about the event was that its main agenda is to show RIA demos and roadmap but was not sure what it is all about.
And here my experience goes…….
Day – 2 was full of hands on session in my agenda. Sessions like COMP261 (Creating persistent business objects with SAP CAF), SOA360 (Enhancing standard SAP enterprise services) already gave my brain good food for thought, but there was lot more to come I did not know at that moment of time.
It started some where at 7.30 PM and we all saw Mr. Craig Cmehil in Christmas mood and playing the role of Santa. Don’t get confused it was like he showered loads of goodies on the audience. That was good fun….. After that the most important of all I got to attend the live demo of what new is about to come in SAP Web Dynpro EHP1 which will be rolled out soon and the other Enhancement packages planned for next year by Mr. Thomas Jung . The FPM (Floor plan manager) looks really cool. The whole concept of Flex Island in Web Dynpro is something I am looking forward. The best part I liked about this Hacker’s night, that it was not only about giving demos but the audience were free to do brain storming in understanding what is the underlying process, technology supporting this kind of applications.
I was kind of really motivated by the kind of discussion that was going on between the presenters, the audience it was simply amazing.
RIA was the main agenda for the night. We had some demos on Adobe flex based applications showing the capabilities which sometime we are not aware of and some time we don’t have the platform to use. But now with FPM coming in Web Dynpro it will be an edge in developing rich internet applications.
At the end when I came out it was some 10.45 PM, my body was tired but the brain wanted to grab more and more. It was really a nice experience attending ‘Hacker’s Night’. I am sure name is Hacker because it will hack sleep from your eyes because you just want this to continue………
Anyways that was all about my experience in short. I have lot to write but probably the fun you will feel, if you will attend it. Looking forward to meet you guys in SAP Teched 2009 Hacker’s Night…………
