It was only natural the community day has yet again been a big hit thrilling everyone attended with its various programs and events. The events have been very educative and provided a chance for the members to know the fellow SDNers better. The best part of it was having a chance to make good friendship with the who’s who of SDN, and the best minds around technology as part of the speed networking. As Mark Yolton rightly mentioned, SCN is “network of networks” where people collaborate from different platforms of a business to help run it on a single thread. Sessions like speed networking would definitely help in this aspect.
There is a famous saying around SAP that it’s quite comparable to an ocean in terms of size and depth (and for me it’s a collection of such oceans!!!). But we are able to swim and manevour across this ocean because of a lot networking and certainly the SDN. A Community Day like this can only strengthen this cause further and thus very much required.
Thanks to the sessions from Ann Rosenberg on The 5 pillars of BPM/BPX and the session on Business Process Modeling and Methodology from Marc Dietrich. I really liked the animated description of Business Process Modeling from Marc Dietrich. RajGopal took us for a trip to the Enterprise Modeling Tool Galaxy which was very educative. The Community Panel Discussion was concentrated around the BPM and the role of BPX. The session threw as many questions and answers which further enlightened the role to be played by a BPX and how important business process modeling and strategizing is.
Thanks to the entire SAP team for organizing such a wonderful community day and my special thanks to Marilyn Pratt(“Godess of SDN” in Mark Yolton’s words) for anchoring through the entire day with a lot of energy and Great Spirit.
