In the past Microsoft Office 2007 was not supported for Desktop Office Integration in SAP R/3 4.6C.
In SAP Note 722513 it was announced that our development will check until the end of this year whether and if yes und which conditions we can provide support for the combination of DOI in SAP R/3 4.6C and Microsoft Office 2007.
As of today Microsoft Office 2007 is also supported for DOI in SAP R/3 4.6C.
You find the updated version of SAP Note 722513 here which describes the prerequisites and limitations that apply.
Please note:
SAP Note 722513 has not been translated from German to English at the time of writing of this blog. So you might still see the old version.
Bottom line is that
- you have to implement SAP Note 972579, which fixes a problem that prevents you from using Office 2007 with DOI in R/3 4.6C.
- The new document formats .docx und .xlsx are currently not supported with DOI. See also SAP Note 1147660.
