Community Day in Shanghai

One of our SAP colleagues, Shengtao Tan,  a usability engineer and part of SAP Labs, China , was in the US for a few months this year “on loan” as part of a top performer exchange program.  Before he left back for his home, I begged him to see if he could capture some of the excitement of the Shanghai Community Evening Summary, Chinese style on camera and even perhaps on video.  I was delighted when a zip file rolled into my inbox today.

In the clips below we can see some of the elements that have been or are becoming the trademark of the community day, beyond the content sharing and knowledge exchange.  What we see here and repeatedly around the globe is executive visibility and support (our management accessible and interacting with the community and visibly excited to do so),  we also observe a public honoring of community members (in this clip we see our newest SAP Mentor SAP Mentor Monday: Lantoa Yang our SAP Mentor in China onstage with Mark Yolton) and importantly we see grassroots, homegrown attempts to document and share the experience with all community members around the globe.

Nice job Shengtao.  Keep us vblogged from China.

    Hi Marilyn and Shengtao,

It makes such a difference to have a couple of videos from an event at a place you have never been. Why am I surprised, that it doesn’t look too different from similar events I have been around the world?

    Thanks for doing it, Mark.
