I have published a very small article to help one in starting a process (modeled by using the BPM tool in NWDS) once it has been deployed into the Application Server.

Here is the link to the article –http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/80ace13d-5182-2b10-a584-bfa2042061e6

In the article, I have mentioned about how to start the process from an Application. Also given is a brief set of steps to start the process from the wsnavigator and from the nwa portal directly.

    Hi, Arti.

I did the HowTo, and inspite of work well I can see an error on the Default.trace.
javax.xml.ws.soap.SOAPFaultException: Process start has been triggered.

    is it normal??

    thanks

      Hi Marcio,

I am not familiar with this exception message. I tried but haven’t been able to reproduce it.

Can you please give me the version ID of the Application Server being used by you? Is it the latest available on SDN or are you using some older version?

      Thanks and Regards,
      Arti

      Hi Marcio,

This is just a follow up information.

Here is a link to SDN forum where this has been discussed – Re: Starting a BPM Process – Where is the Service?

The gist of the reason for this exception raised is – “…processes can only be exported as “asynchronous” services. Thus, if you used a synchronous service interface, the only meaningful message that can be returned to the caller is a SOAP fault since anything else wouldn’t make any sense…”

      Hope this helps.

      Regards,
      Arti
