Working the forums, it is quite obvious that there is a lot of confusion about the Crystal Reports runtime for Visual Studio .NET as well as the Report Designer Component (RDC). With the hope that I can decrease the amount of confusion and associated frustration, I’ve creates a Wiki that summarizes the runtime for each version of Crystal Reports, from version 9.1 to the currently shipping version 12 (2008). The link to the Wiki is here:

Quick links to the RDC runtime are described in the wiki Crystal Reports Report Designer Component Runtime Distribution – Versions pre 8.0.x to 12.0:

I found your forum posts to be helpful, and noted that your notes about confusion over CReports within .net.    One thing I can seem to figure out or get a response to is, after exporting a cReport XI to a file, how can I determine how many rows were exported?  Can you help?  Should be pretty simple, but I must be missing something obvious.
