So it would appear that TechEd 08 is the year of the BPX.

First we got a mention in the Key Note, this is a recognition by SAP that if the whole Flexibility part of their strategy is going to work they need BPX type people who can help businesses and IT understand what is possible.

This is being backed up by SAP with a BPX certification program that will cover both the theory side of business process modelling and the technical side of the tools that can be used to enable these processes.

Next we get a whole new set of tools within the Composition Envrionment that will help the BPX close the gap between requirements and execution but using the same models within the Business Design time and the Technical Design time.

In addition to Visual Composer we now get Getting Started with Business Process Management (BPM) and SAP NetWeaver Business Rules Management. Getting to know these tools is going to be key to being an effective BPX.

The final item to highlight is the ECOHUB, this will allow the BPX to more easily figure out if someone has already solved the problem they have to solve. The make vs buy decision will be made easier.

So lots to learn for your average BPX - but we are very much front and centre at TechEd - Berlin 08.
