It is amazing to see how many articles, blogs, podcasts and videos have been published about the new partnership between SAP and InnoCentive. InnoCentive was announced at TechEd in Las Vegas. Some of the articles take a closer look at the three initial challenges posted on the InnoCentive marketplace. These challenges have a total combined money award of $25,000. Others are more focused on the underlying concepts of “open innovation” and “crowdsourcing” and what they mean in the context of SAP’s new partnership.
Instead of posting my long list, I am sharing my top three favorites with you which are really worth spending a few minutes of your time taking a look at:
- “SAP and open innovation“: Listen to this podcast from SAPSearch.com. Mark Yolton, Senior Vice President of the SAP Community Network, and David Ritter, CTO of InnoCentive provide their insights into SAP’s internal innovation process and how it complements open innovation.
- “SAP and InnoCentive team up in innovation marketplace“: Warren Wilson from Ovum uses eBay as an anology to provide an excellent overview how the ‘marketplace of ideas’ works
- Read Jeff Crites blog on the “The Changing Face of Open Innovation” that talks about the SAP and InnoCentive partnership in the light of an emerging industry trend leading companies to open their doors for new ideas and suggestions from partners and customers
