| Jim: Anyone have examples of using a wiki for ride sharing? I’m working on http://tinyurl.com/5w79wh about 5 hours ago from web |
In the HTML editor, the timestamps are nicely formatted as “about 9 hours ago,” but you probably won’t see them like that when this is published.
As a result of the above, I put a wiki page under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Sustainability site:
https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/CSR/Transportation+choices
Two things I want to do:
1) Document carbon dioxide emissions from various means of travel. Since it’s a wiki, I expect others to verify my somewhat more than back of the envelope calculations. I think I’m in the ballpark (get the sports analogy?).
2) Build a ride share board so people can meet up in transit. Craig started the discussion forum thread; I think the wiki will work better for editing than the linearity of a discussion.

@jspath55 @ccmehil Winners of DevChallenge did very cool carpool app on BB + Facebook. Will be in LV for Demo Jam. Video: http://is.gd/uNI
I’ve received your message regarding carpool, but I would highly recommend to use public transportation. Originally Eddy mentioned this topic with EMEA SAPPHIRE 2008.
If the TechEd community uses only public transportation, we could use this as an advertisement (tv-spot). It’s not only a saving on carbon footprint, but also money (which itself could be a donation to WHO).
Those, who fly into Germany, but not directly to Berlin: please use the high-speed trains (ICE) instead of cars or airlines.
Kind regards Paul
