There are various technical possibilities of how an application can use Office products. For this reason, it should be determined first WHICH of these (technical) possibilities is used.
If you do not know how the Office connection has been made in a specific application, contact the application component in the SAP Service Marketplace first.
Office connection with “Desktop Office Integration” (DOI)
DOI is a Basis component which is used by many applications. DOI in steps replaces the former ‘MS Word Link via RFC’ (WRFC) interface. Support informations for DOI have been removed from note 103174 and are now available in a separate note: 722513.
Office connection for components that do not use DOI
