We’ve been busy working to offer Diamond users the best experience possible and the next time that you come to the Diamond community you will notice some changes to this effect. Most notably, the log on process and forums have changed. We’ve listened to your feedback about forums being spread across many sites, so we have consolidated all forums into a single place on the SAP Community Network (SCN) infrastructure. To do so, we transferred your original forum questions to the new site while preserving your Diamond username.
The first time you log on again to Diamond you will be redirected to a SAP Community Network/Business Objects Diamond Community log on page and will need to update your registration information and accept the new terms and agreement. This is necessary to allow contributing to Diamond and SAP’s Community Network and will only be necessary once.
In addition to the single set of forums you will only need one log on to access Diamond, SCN and SAP Support . Beyond technical changes we have also added additional moderators to the forums to ensure questions are answered and the forums stay clean from inappropriate or incorrectly posted content. As an added benefit of using the SCN forums, top contributors can earn MVP points that can be used to earn credibility as a specialist in an area of expertise or rewards like trips to SAP TechEd events.
Q: Will my Diamond username still work?
A: Yes. For most users they will be able to log on with their Diamond username and password as they did before. If you have any problems logging on, please check the community support page (SAP Community Support). Contact information is provided if your problem cannot be resolved.
Q: I had a lot of posts associated with my account, will these be remembered?
A: We have attempted to migrate forums content with usernames intact, therefore you should see your account associated with forums posts in SCN.
Q: I also had an account on the Customer Assurance forums, will that still work?
A: No. The Customer Assurance forums content was migrated over but not the username, you will need to use your Diamond account.
Q: What is happening to Diamond longer term?
A: For now, Diamond will remain separate from SCN while sharing the user log on and forums. In the future, a place will be built on SCN for the Business Objects community and all Diamond content will be migrated over. The goal is to leverage the services on SCN to provide an even better experience that users had on Diamond.
Q: I already created an SCN account
A: You can use either your SCN or your Diamond account but are encouraged to choose one to maximize points. If you have accumulated points with one and want to merge you can contact SAP community support and request the transfer of points.
