iPi: SAP PI meets iGoogle Gadgets

Thinked, developed and written with my friend and colleague Marco Senigagliesi.

Since it was launched we were very impressed about the functionality and the powerful of the Google Gadget. We were looking for a gadget that could be useful for our job with SAP PI, but we didn’t find anything. So we simply think to implement it.

We hope it will be useful to have grouped together in a simple Google Gadget the most used links for every SAP PI user. Have a try and let us know by adding the following link to the IGoogle Home page: Add stuff –> Add feed or gadget –>

That’s all!!! No need of any sort of external engine to install, just a browser a Google Account and setting out the server name and port in the Gadget Preferences.

Thanks to Sravya Talanki for the background image.

  • Hi Emiliano,

Gadget looks cool.. One feature request..Can you make the Environment name configurable? Lets say we have more than one QA or Test systems, then would like to have different names for each sytem.
    Thanks in advance.

    • Hi Ananth,
iPi is a “work in progress” project, so we’re very happy to receive feedbacks by the users…BTW we’ll insert your requirement in the next version…stay tuned.

  • Hi all,
I have updated the preferences of the iPi Gadget, by including an input text box used to personalise the label of the Gadget.
Because Google Gadgets are cached it could take a few days to have it updated.
Anyway if you want to have your iPi Gadget update by now, just add the gadget named “My Gadget”, and deselect the iPi Gadget cache.
