Hi there! We’re Bill and Minda, and you might be wondering just why there’s two names on this instead of one.
We’re the co-authors of The Geek Gap, a book about the differences between geeks and suits (read: techies and business users) and the resulting “challenges”, and we’re very glad to be members of BPX. We hope to generate some helpful discussion around the subject of better communication across the Business/IT divide. While we do post here under our own names separately, this particular blog relates specifically to the subject of our co-written book, and the articles we are co-writing for BPX.
Articles will be posted every week or two on the BPX community site, so check back here often. As soon as an article is posted, we’ll make sure there’s a link to it from here, as well as a link back here for comments.
But for now, here’s a question: Did you happen to attend or watch the video stream (posted on BPX – IE only) of our talk on March 26, 2008 at SAP Palo Alto, and if so, did you find it helpful or informative? We’ve also spoken on Community Day and in the Clubhouse for TechEd ’07 last October in Las Vegas, so you may have seen us there.
C’mon – make our Community Day, and comment below – we want to hear your ideas! Thanks, and look for the first of many articles we’ll be posting.
