Day 2 at the “CRM 2008” Networking Event: Co-innovation and Collaboration

It was a very exciting first day at SAP Insider’s “CRM 2008” conference, kicked of by a well-received keynote by Bob Stutz and Mike de la Cruz Monday morning in front of close to 1000 attendees.

Co-innnovation with customers and partners and focusing on the user was the mantra of this keynote which also showcased some highlights of the latest CRM release ‘SAP CRM 2007’ featuring the new user interface. “For this milestone release we have been listening to our customers, we have developed it together with our customers and partners, and we have worked with CRM users in Sales, Marketing, and Service. The result would not have been possible without you – our customers and partners. Thank you!” said Bob.

The keynote was recorded and after some post production will be posted on BPX and made available to the entire community. Stay tuned for any update on when the keynote will be posted.

Mike de la Cruz, SVP of CRM Product Management, also talked about the community on BPX and its importance and encouraged attendees to join and become a member so they can continue to network, discuss CRM topics and share best practices after the event.

In general, there’s a lot of excitement here in Vegas around the new user interface of SAP CRM 2007. If you want to get a glimpse of the new UI check out the The new SAP CRM 2007 in action: It’s so easy… or go to the demo site on BPX.

The presentations and break out sessions led by CRM experts from customers, partners, and SAP, are all packed – and the feedback has been very positive so far. About 30 CRM experts who are presenting have posted a blog on BPX that will allow both attendees and non-attendees to ask questions related to the presentation topics. In order to ask your question see the list of participating presenters by CRM 2008: Q&A with Presenters and other News from the SAP Insider Conference in Vegas.

Also, many attendees have signed up as new members on BPX at the event where we have a BPX table to show CRM on BPX as well as a self-service terminal to register as a new member.

    • SAP CRM 2007 is the current go-to release. It is generally available in the US and Germany and is currently in ramp up in all other countries.

SAP CRM 2006s (= “5.2”) was the first release to introduce the new user interface and was released last year for those customers who could not wait for SAP CRM 2007 because of urgent business needs. SAP CRM 2006s has much of the funtionality of SAP CRM 2007 with exceptions such as TPM, MDF and some UI enhancements (including drag and drop). Anyway, SAP CRM 2007 is the release you want to go with unless you have already started with a SAP CRM 2006s implementation project.

SAP CRM 7.0 will be the next upcoming release following SAP CRM 2007. Please note that SAP naming conventions have changed for Business Suite releases from year to number.
