Growing the CRM Community on BPX – SAP Insider’s “CRM 2008” is another milestone for the CRM online community

In order to grow our CRM community and introduce new CRM experts to the BPX community we are taking BPX to SAP Insider’s “CRM 2008” conference in Las Vegas next week. Read about planned activities at the event and online on BPX that will add a new dimension to the event, create awareness for the community, add value to attendees, and provide those who cannot attend with information about the event (for example a replay of the keynote with Bob Stutz, SVP of CRM product and strategy at SAP) and connect you with many new contacts and experts from SAP product management, SAP customers and partners.

On March 3-5, about 1000 CRM experts from SAP, customers, partners and other groups are expected to meet in Las Vegas to exchange CRM best practices, hear about the latest SAP CRM release, discuss the hottest CRM topics, and network with their peers.

We would like to take this opportunity to introduce these experts to the Business Process Expert Community and leverage BPX to enrich the event for the attendees.

We are exploring different ways to reach out to CRM experts and win them over to joining the community and by doing so further enrich the quality of CRM conversations and content in BPX and SDN for all of us here.  At the same time we can enliven the onsite CRM event with specific online activities.

Here’s a brief overview of what we have planned:

  • We will record the keynote with Bob Stutz (SVP and GM of CRM Global Strategy and Product) and Mike de la Cruz (SVP CRM Product Management) and broadcast at a later time on BPX so all commumity members will be able to enjoy this presentation.
  • Introducing CRM @ BPX in Keynote and breakout sessions
  • BPX table with introduction demos and BPX experts
  • Self service station for attendees to sign up as new members
  • VIP customer tours will make a stop at the BPX table

At the event we will also officially announce / launch

  • A new forum focusing on SAP CRM 2007
  • The CRM community wiki
  • A series of audio books with CRM customer stories

During the event we will also report from the venue with daily blogs, interviews with attendees, pictures…

Many of the top CRM experts who are presenting at “CRM 2008” have agreed to be available online for Q&A.
We will be using the blog platform for these post presentation Q&A with separate postings for each presenter. Attendees and those who cannot attend the event will be able to ask questions related to the presentation topic using the comment feature during and after the event. More on this in my next SAP Insider “CRM 2008” event blog this Sunday.

We are all very excited about this great opportunity to take the CRM community to the next level. Please be patient if not everything works out well; there may be some hiccups.

Please send your comments about taking CRM 2008 online to myself and don’t blame any attendee who may have no prior blogger or online community experience but acts with best intentions.

      Hi Volker,

great to hear the the CRM content in BPX will grow and non attendees of the SAP CRM 2008 Event are given the chance to attend online.

Have you heared about http://www.eventtrack.info/? It's a service invented by Craig Cmehil where you can track an event. Please check the FAQ to see how it works. SAPCRM2008 would be a good tag.

      Best regards
      Gregor

Great idea, Gregor.  I've also created a flickr group for pictures (no surprise) called SAPCRM and that would be a good place to tag SAPCRM2008 pics, screen shots, "live coverage".

A lot of people like me have been waiting for a long time to have a wonderful CRM Product from SAP. And now the product is in place we need a Forum of experts to guide in succesful implentation and developemnt of CRM 2007. A BPX Forum is really a great initiative and will help uncountable number of SAP CRM professionals across the world related directly or indirectly to development and implementation of SAP CRM to come and exchange ideas from a common platform.

As an input I would like to say that there should be some dedicated forum for CRM Development as well as CRM Implementation. This will help both the Consultant as well as the Developer to zero in on the problem and to get the most effective solution.

Hope this Forum will be another Landmark in SDN with across the board participation.

Looking forward to hear about this soon.

      Great Work.

      Thanks,
      Samantak Chatterjee.

      Hi Volker,
perfect move, from my perspective the attendees at CRM 2008 conference are the perfect audience for our new CRM community, and derive great value from it as it is continuously growing.

I anyway planned to put the highest focus in the "where to get further information"-chapter of my presentatin on the CRM community pages.

That's simply the way how people connect nowadays and share opinions, experiences, ideas, problems and solutions.

Thanks so much for all your work on this topic.

      Regards
      Ingo

There's a indication that some pictures were taken at the event. I've been looking for them without success.

Can you point me in the right direction. This ulr mentions them, without any link.

      Thanks
