Update: Please RSVP for the event, so that we can plan space.

If you liked the SAP Salon this week with Sean O'Driscoll please mark your calendar: March 26th 10am to 11:30am PST we will host the authors Minda Zetlin and Bill Pfleging. We will do a session around their Book the Geek Gap. Some of you may remember them from the Community Day in Las Vegas where we had a lively discussion around this theme. We are really happy to have them again, this time in Palo Alto.

One of the biggest problems that determine the success or failure of a software or implementation project are not technology, but soft factors like willingness to change or not speaking the same language. It is also the reason why cats and dogs often don't get along, because the cues that they are sending each other are interpreted wrongly which leads to disaster. On the other hand if the dog and the cat grow up together they are best friends for life. (Or at least I think that is the case.)

Similar there is a big gab in the interest and language of techies and the business people. It is like Austrians and Germans, on the surface they speak the same language, the understanding sometimes ... Oh, oh, I will get in trouble for this one 😉

Bill and Minda live it, as he is the total geek and she is at home in the business world. They have written the Geek Gap book that details the problems and points out solutions on how to make it work. This will be our focus will at the SAP Salon on the 26th of March 10am PST at SAP Labs in Palo Alto. (WebEx details to come soon.)

Business Process Experts as well as Developers need to be aware of that problem and need ways to get around it to ensure success of the project they are working on. I am looking forward to the session. You can already check out a The Geek Gap: Interview with Bill Pfleging and Minda Zetlin that Bob McGlunn did with the two authors for a local radio station. See you all there.
