Many Public Security issues are now able to be viewed from a global perspective.  These links are a few which I have found that show events, such as Terror Events, Natural Disasters, Pandemics, and Civil Unrest.

There are even accounts where private citizens are creating mashups based on local police reporting to add value to the citizen.

Since the initial post, I have been asked to provide additional links.  Here is a list of links that I frequently use.  It’s amazing to see all of these different types of incidents occurring throughout the world.

In the interest of information sharing, I am posted other sites that I am aware of and which I commonly refer to.  Many of these sites accentuate the global nature in response, support, and even impact of events.

Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Response Association

Relief Web

Global Emergency Management System

Center for International Disaster Information

NCTC Worldwide Incident Tracking System

Here are a couple more links that might be of interest… As a developer, I would be interested in finding webservices to supply notifications of events that would be trusted to have direct impact for a specific company. If you are a supplier of bottled water, you might want to be able to plug in your workflow to start immediately when an earthquake is reported.
