The Enterprise Service Repository (ESR) is now available as evaluation version for SAP NetWeaver Composition Environment 7.1, SR3 (SAP NetWeaver CE). The ESR – with its service management features – completes the SAP NetWeaver CE to a comprehensive eSOA toolkit.
SAP NetWeaver CE is the platform for service consumption and provision. It fullfills perfectly the needs and requirements that are important to realize the eSOA concept. However, searching and finding the right services in the eSOA area is one of the keys to produce speed and efficiency for designing eSOA application. ESR fills this gap. The ESR for CE provides easy and harmonized possibilities to search and find the needed services. It’s optimized to orchestrate perfectly with CE during design & run time.
More information about Composition at SAP and SAP NetWeaver CE can be found here: CE homepage on SDN . Additionally SDN offers a very good overview and introduction into the ESR on this page: ESR homepage on SDN.
You can download an ESR evaluation version that can be installed on top of the SAP NetWeaver CE 7.1 SR3 evaluation version. (This SAP NetWeaver CE version with 90-days license is also available here in SDN).
Hint: the ESR runs only on top of SR3, SR1 is NOT sufficient!
Get ESR right now in just four fast steps:

And finally you’ll find this page where you can download the ESR:
After installation, some configuration steps have to be done. What kind of steps and how they can be executed is described in the ESR Installation and Configurationguide. A An in depth look at enterprise SOA describes useful applications built on top of ESR and CE.
If you face issues, questions or other contributions, do not hesitate to post and look in the Composite Applications .
Some more tutorials, application descriptions and ESR contents will follow soon – stay tuned.
