2008 will be exciting…

Finally, the holidays have arrived. As 2007 comes to a close, I look back on an exciting year.

Completing a herculean task we have successfully launched the new SAP CRM 2007 release and started shipping it to customers. With a complete redesign of the user interface we have been able to wow customers, analysts and the press.

The product launch at the SAP Influencer Summit in Boston a couple of weeks ago was a great success and the tone of the press coverage was pretty positive emphasizing the new Web 2.0 capabilities and ease of use of the new CRM software. For example, CRN talked about the “radically different” user interface of SAP CRM 2007. The Reuters story “SAP unveils Google-inspired software, iPhone program” trickled a flurry of pick ups in many other business publications, including the Washington Post, the Guardian Unlimited UK and the Wall Street Journal.

You can check it out yourself if you haven’t done so already. Start the embedded video show at the end of this blog or go directly to our video library to watch 10 short demos in full screen mode.

The new CRM community on SAP’s Community network is the second major achievement of this year. With the launch of the new release we were also able to launch CRM @ BPX. With this community we enter a new era in collaboration and co-innovation with customers and partners. This is Web 2.0 in action!

I believe we have started with some great content so please check out some of the articles, white papers, research reports and business transformation studies. Watch the videos, read the blogs and join one of the forums… and let us know what you think!

This is just the beginning. As we head into 2008, we will continue to provide you with innovative content (e.g. add more videos so you can experience the new release and provide us with your valuable feedback); and we are ready to expand CRM @ BPX and do more innovative stuff that we hope will be benefitial for all of us. Our strategic direction is clear: CRM @ BPX will become a critical element of our engagement with customers and partners and together we will build the best community on BPX. We have big plans!

So what’s coming up soon? In January, we will add a new forum specifically for the new CRM user interface, moderated by our UI team. We have plans for other forums as well and would like to start a wiki. In addition we will offer you to participate in “benchmarking studies” that allow you to compare pour business processes and KPI’s to other organizations. So stay tuned for more information about this exciting opportunity.

Once again, I would like to encourage you to provide feedback, let us know what you think, share your experience and ideas, post your own blogs or comment on others and join the forums to discuss specific topics.

This is your opportunity to shape this community and the future of CRM!

Happy holidays and a Happy New Year!
