RampUp successfully finished

Beginning in May this year, the RampUp of SAP NetWeaver CE 7.1 is finished successfully by today. During these past seven months many partners and customers worked with SAP NetWeaver CE. They started in May with SAP NetWeaver 7.1. SR1 and provided valuable feedback to improve and refine the software. These evaluations and feedback flowed into the ongoing development of CE. During the RampUp phase, SAP delivered SAP NetWeaver CE 7.1 SR3 and this SR3 release is now the base for the unrestricted shipment. Get here an evaluation version of SAP NetWeaver CE 7.1 SR3.

The planned number of customers and partners was succeeded clearly which is a definitely an achievement cause SAP NetWeaver CE is a new product and it serves a new but important market of building composites. But not only the number of users is a success, furthermore SAP NetWeaver CE revealed very positive feedback in terms of

  • lean consumption (installation very fast, approx. 1h)
  • robustness and reliability of underlying SAP NetWeaver Web Application Server (Java EE 5, EJB 3.0)
  • valuable new features compared to SAP NetWeaver 2004s (7.0)

Ok, RampUp successfully finished - what's now?

Now SAP NetWeaver CE is in unrestricted shipment, i.e. RampUp application and selection process is no longer needed. All partners and customer who have a SAP NetWeaver license can get SAP NetWeaver CE 7.1 without any restrictions.
The current version is the SR3, i.e. if you get SAP NetWeaver CE 7.1 now, you'll get SR3. However, SP4 is in development and will be available soon. SP4 will contain the feedback out of RampUp experiences.

Information, support and help you can get here in SDN, i.e. on Composition page, in forums Composite Applications and Composite Applications.
