I frequently used to see some threads in SDN from the beginners soliciting the direction to start their career in SAP CRM. I can see more than 10 questions/threads on these topics within last 2-3 days. We know lot of information are available in scattered way in different threads of SDN forum but how good it is if we have a guide map available with us. So I just thought to write this blog (providing the useful urls) which may help the beginners to start career in SAP CRM.

Customer Relationship Management – a business strategy aimed at optimizing customer facing activities for the greatest impact on business success.

Which departments of an enterprise are involved in customer facing activities?·

  • Sales
  • Service
  • Marketing

Why SAP CRM?

Using SAP CRM, a business can:

  • Provide better customer service
  • Increase customer revenues
  • Discover new customers
  • Cross sell/Up Sell products more effectively
  • Help sales staff close deals faster
  • Make call centers more efficient
  • Simplify marketing and sales processes

Career in SAP CRM:

I believe why many people are interested to pursue the career in SAP CRM is due to the high demand and gih billing rate in the market. The market for CRM software and services will continue to grow. Companies are trying to boost the productivity of their customer-facing activities.

Useful links:

I would suggest the beginners to plan for the SAP CRM training and the certification. You can plan for the certification on CRM fundamentals but if you have the basic knowledge/exposure in SAP CRM or if you have the functional/domain knowledge, you can directly go for SAP Sales, Service or Marketing. Please go through the following SAP help pages on this topic:

Certification for SAP consultant is a must, it helps Organisation to find good projects and clients also find it comfortable to work with the consultant who are certified from SAP.

Recently, SAP announced some prerequisites before you attend certification.
    SAP Criteria for Direct Certification.
