Opening note for any developers out there, developer skills don't easily equate to event planning skills. With that said I think we still had an excellent opening day of our second annual developer conference, and the worst feedback I got was that it started too early in the morning.

The highlight of the Conference was the pre-announcement of Crystal Reports 2008 by of Business Objects founder Bernard Liautaud. Today is very exciting day for Crystal Reports users and developers. Donald MacCormick our Chief Transformation Officer gave a demonstration of Crystal Reports 2008 that blew us away with the next generation of Crystal Reports features.

Over the next few months we are going to be publishing a large number of content on Diamond reviewing the new features of Crystal Reports 2008. For now I'll give you just quick highlight of the day's events.

We launched the Crystal Reports 2008 Beta.  This beta is open to anyone through registration on Diamond.  http://diamond.businessobjects.com/betas

We announced the Xcelsius Beta SDK found at http://www.businessobjects.com/xcelsius/contest

In panel discussion Business Objects and Adobe gave us a full rundown of how their technologies are being used together to move BI into next generation apps using technologies like Adobe Flex Builder and the Adobe Integrated Runtime environment.

We also had a number of great presentations that we will be posting on the site in the coming weeks.

Stay tuned for more updates and the conference continues.
