I'll start again with my customary statement
I love track based development in the NWDI.
I hate track based development in the NWDI.
Unfortunately both the statements are true.
The focus of this blog is Enterprise Portal DCs.
I got excited about Enterprise Portal DCs. Being an early adaptor of portal technology, we had quite a large number of custom portal applications. Managing them is/was always pain. Enterprise Portal DCs provided a ray of hope for managing these custom applications. My Hope Was Short Lived. We were in NW2004 and that didn't help the situation.
We tried to create a track and move the custom portal applications to the track. Never managed to centrally build the portal applications. That's the end of story.
I frantically looked for available documentation on enterprise portal dcs and track based development for portal dcs. One useful piece of documentation explained the dependent software component required, But it was for NW 2004s. Here I am sharing the links to some documentation available on portal dc and track based development. Hope this helps others with similar requirements.
