SAP has officially launched it’s new product – SAP Business ByDesign. The product has been “designed around four key principles—completeness, ease of use, adaptability and significantly cutting total cost of ownership (TCO)”. You can read more at SAP’s website and press release

I moved out of the Mobile area some 6 months back and joined the team which was developing this product. On a personal note, it is a remarkable moment for me too. And I am looking forward to blogging more about the product in the future.

    Hi, Santos!

Is this product – as it seems to me from the architectural slides – a development completely based an NetWeaver CE? Or do the backend-systems like ERP also deliver their own UIs via Web Dynpro?

And what about the presentation – is there a consumer portal layer in front of it? Could you – without telling any business secrets – perhaps provide some additional technical info?

Anyway, I’ m really amazed by the pure SOA-design of this new product.

    Regards,
    Thomas

    Hey Santosh,

You made a great contribution in terms of blogging on Mobile Sales and i am hoping the same from you on BizbyDesign. I think we really need a blog from you on this one as i haven’t really grasped the concept behind this. What it means for the consultants and what does it mean for a customer?
