Web Dynpro Java is one of the tools to model user interfaces within SAP NetWeaver CE. As SAP NetWeaver CE 7.1 is already in Ramp-Up (and available as evaluation version on SDN download page), it's good to know what new features and function are deliverd by SAP NetWeaver CE. Get here an overview about the news regarding Web Dynpro Java:

  • As Web Dynpro Java is modelled in SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio (NWDS), you should know that with SAP NetWeaver CE 7.1 the NWDS is based on Eclipse 3.x. This fact provides some new features, e.g. the Web Dynpro View Designer provides now WYSIWYG, there is a component modeler tool, a context debugger, etc.
  • SAP NetWeaver CE 7.1 bases on Java EE 5 standard, i.e. EJB 3.0. This new and standardized EJB model is supported by Web Dynpro Java.
  • New UI elements for Web Dynpro are provided, e.g. calender UI element, scrollable table, ....
  • For a more effective Web Dynpro architecture, a new controller type is introduced: window controller.
