The time is going by faster than I imagined.  It is August 10th already.  I sent in my presentation yesterday knowing the deadline for it was today. I guess I can give a sneak peek and not get into trouble.

It’s about 40 slides worth of what we did, how it went wrong and what we did to adapt and correct the situation.  Yorktowne is not that big of a Company.  Last year at Tech Ed I realized that, when the majority of the people there had multiple portals in different locations around the world.  I discovered I was just a grain of sand on a big beach.

There’s a thing about sand though.  It can blow around a lot.  Get into you shoe or eye and be irritating.  Or, it can be useful.  There are a lot of industrial uses for sand.  And at this years Tech Ed, this little grain of sand is going to show that it IS part of the beach.

If you have seen my previous blog on presenting UP118, you will remember that I do not have nerves of steal.  Speaking in front of this many people is going to be a challenge.  However, I have a presentation that might help someone solve a problem.  Or maybe be a spark for somebody to create a new idea.  I’ll never know unless I contribute.

Sign ups for the session will be out soon.  But, October 2nd will not be here soon enough.

I am a lecture session.  There are no sign ups for UP118.

So, I will have no idea if I am speaking to a room full of people or just listening to crickets.
