SAP develops predefined, preconfigured personal information service for many countries like USA, Germany, Canada, etc.,  In the standard Employee Self-Service business packages these service can be find under the business area Personal Information. This business area groups the service which gathers the personal details of the employees.

These services facilitating an increase in employee efficiency, reduce costs, speed portal deployments, and maximize the value of your IT infrastructure thus helping companies get the most out of their IT investments.

      Hi Jun,
Pre-requisite for this solution is you should have a customer infotype Personal Information Scenario in working condition for the general country scenario.

This solution will help you to run the same scenario for the Public Sector division of the same country.

Hope this help you to understand it better.

Sorry, but reading your blog had me fairly lost. I wasn't sure (and may still not be) what you were trying to accomplish. Your scenario was not as clearly defined as I thought it might be. So, allow me to ask:

Is what you are trying to explain is that when you install ESS and can not find a country-specific delivered solution to meet your needs (ie. Public Sector USA as "UP"), then you are showing a way to copy and reuse an existing country specific settings (ie. use the US "10" settings for your PS US "UP" needs)?

      Am I following that correctly?

It might also be nice to show the additional settings needed in ESS for the infotype/subtype activation settings. I would think you would need similar entries for "UP" as you will have for "10".

      Hi Christopher,
I plan to cover the reuse of an existing country specific service to an another in my next blog.

      This solution will be used:
If the particular country has a solution and the customer is an Public sector customer. But the setting for the general country spefic scenarios can't be used for Public sector customers.

In this case "additional settings needed in ESS for the infotype/subtype activation" is not required to be modified.

Hope now you are clear with the scope of this blog.

      Best Regards,
