I was looking for a means to track the number of hits my personal blog was getting. A little bit of googling led me to www.statcounter.com. I opted for the free features available and I was really surprised at the amount of information it gave me – number of hits, number of visitors who came back, where did the visitors come from, what machine were they using etc. It was really amazing.

StatCounter currently has more than 1.5 million users and tracks more than 9 billion page views per month across its network of 2.2 million Web sites. No wonder Aodhan Cullen, the founder of StatCounter has been named one of Europe’s Young Entrepeneurs 2007 (http://www.businessweek.com/globalbiz/content/jul2007/gb20070717_028843.htm) and he is just 24.This was really inspiring to me.

But, if you take a look at
some profiles in the wiki, you’ll see that several people are already on the “Hit counter” bandwagon…
Maybe I’m missing the point here !?

        Yes, that post, among others…
        1) Yes, I was impressed by the features as well…
        2) And by its founder…
But a blog for this? Anyway, I guess I’ll just go fish elsewhere… Thanks!
