After the acquisition of MaXware (the company in Norway that developed great products related to Identity Management) SAP now ships the first release of the former MaXware products.

On July 15. 2007 SAP started to offer the new product “SAP NetWeaver Identity Management 7.0” to its existing and potential new customers. SAP actually just rebranded the mature, proven and comprehensive product line from MaXware that is already in use by numerous customers from all industries and sizes. Overview information about this new SAP offering is available on the SDN.

There is also an updated FAQ to be found on the SDN. Read the answers to possible questions around the SAP NetWeaver Identity Management.

    Looks promising!

I could not find any references to it, but would it be possible to use the Identity Center component to provision portal roles to LDAP groups and/or users?

If so, could this also be done in an automated way by using rule sets?

      Hi Robin,
Portal role provisioning is possible using SPML.
Rules for provisioning can also be defined!
Please read the information that is available using the links that I supplied in my blog and also the information that is available when you download the product on the SAP Service Marketplace (quick link /swdc). Please also consult the FAQ for more information.
      Best regards
      Kristian
