You may have heard it at Sapphire already, seen it on the SAP Service Marketplace, or even on SDN… SAP NetWeaver 2004s has become SAP NetWeaver 7.0.  SAP’s new release strategy for ERP is based around a stable and long-lived ERP release to which you can add Enhancement Packages as required, giving you innovation without the disruption of frequent major upgrades. In parallel with the new release strategy, SAP has also updated its way of naming releases, so you will find that mySAP ERP 2005 is now called SAP ERP 6.0 and, in particular, that SAP NetWeaver 2004s has been renamed SAP NetWeaver 7.0.   As we transition to the new name, you will inevitably see the release referred to in different ways – SAP NetWeaver 2004s, SAP NetWeaver 7.0 (2004s), as well as the new official name SAP NetWeaver 7.0. Do remember that it’s the same NetWeaver release behind all of these names, and please bear with us while we make the changes!
