If you have installed the viewer on a machine that also has Crystal Reports XI installed, when you uninstall the viewer, the file association with .rpt files is broken.
To restore the file association
1 Open Windows Explorer.
2 On the Tools menu, click Folder Options.
3 In the Folder Options dialog box, click the File Types tab.
4 Search for and select RPT from the Extensions list.
5 Click Change and browse for crw32.exe.
If you installed Crystal Reports to the default directory, crw32.exe can be found at:
\\Program Files\Business Objects\Crystal Reports 11
6 Click Open, and then OK to return to the Folder Options dialog box.
